I’ve been looking into automation engineering as a specialisation and it seems interesting and involves different fields. The only thing I’m worried about is the amount of coding.
I did computer science for about a year and did not enjoy it. The programming didn’t feel especially worthwhile (personal experience).
I don’t want to work in a field where I’m mostly sitting in front of a computer working on something non-tangible (websites and apps). Are there fields within automation engineering that are more or less programming heavy? Are those better paid?
