MultiLogin was autoremoved from chrome instances a while back, and I found a new extension here (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/multilogin/nknfhhmhoflkcijaodalbncnmidocced?hl=en) that seemed to do the trick (apparently named the same thing, but looks like different developer)
Well, now it too is phoning to unwanted locations, injecting script into all loaded pages (the latest was a call to a contributiontried.men site, didn't resolve, but was trying), so I've removed that one too.
Script only showed up when extension was enabled, not there when extension disabled/removed, so I'm pretty sure that it's the culprit.
I reinstalled it to copy off the source code to modify it on my own (before I removed it again), and the unwanted behavior is no longer present.
I'll keep an eye on it, but if you use it, and see anything malicious, you can try removing it completely, and reinstalling.
As a sidenote, has anyone found a better solution to needing independent sessions in chrome besides trying to find plugins that will do this but not phone home? An incognito window only gets you 1 more session, as all incog windows share the new 'secret' session.
